Prospecting for Gold Ltd (Prospecting for Gold) was created in 1991 as the research arm of
Charity Consultants Ltd, the UK's leading network of fundraising consultants. Since 2001
Prospecting for Gold has provided prospect research to over 250 charities, at the same time
investing a total of £2 million of resources in building the database from public domain information
History
2001 - Prospecting for
Gold becomes an
independent sister
company to Charity
Consultants Ltd offering
research services to other
charities and fundraising
consultancies. Since then
Prospecting for Gold has
concentrated on building
up the size of the
database and has
introduced the following
range of research
products.

2003 - Prospecting for Gold launches Snapshot reports, identifying the best
prospects on a supporter or membership database.
2005 - the Prospecting for Gold Database passes the 200,000 wealthy
records barrier!
2005 - Prospecting for Gold formed a partnership with CCR Data Ltd to
launch Prospect Profiler - the new Data Audit service and created the new
'WealthTag' product.
2006 - Prospecting for Gold entered into an agreement with Matrix Data Ltd
to create the UK's largest single database of factual wealth intelligence -
The Wealth Intelligence Database - and launched the 'Faststats' service,
which will change the way Prospect Research is delivered and used by
charities.
2007 - Prospecting for Gold launches the 2007 release of The Wealth
Intelligence Database.
2008 - The Legacy Prospect Database is launched by Prospecting for Gold,
providing the UK's first factual database of wealth and life-stage information
developed specifically for legacy marketing and planned giving fundraising.
2009 - The Wealth Intelligence Database passes the 300,000 records barrier
2009 - Prospecting for Gold launches the Annual Giving Database.
Developed specifically for annual gift and planned donation fundraising it is
the first database in the UK to combine factual information about people's
property wealth and life-stage information as well as their other liquid
assets.
